Constitution de la Peninsula & District Xmas Bands Union, principale organisation de Christmas Choirs (ou bands, fanfares chrétiennes, troisième élément des fêtes du Nouvel an, qui tiennent leurs compétitions après le carnaval des klopse et celles des Malay Choirs), 1992. Communiquée par M. R.C. Van Zitter, capitaine du The Royal Stars Christmas Band, le 26 janvier 1994, à son domicile, Paarl. 02. Programme des compétitions du Suid-Afrikaanse Koorraad (Conseil des chœurs sud-africains, SAKR), 1994, collecté sur place. Le SAKR fut fondé en 1952 par un certain nombre de chœurs qui quittèrent le Cape Malay Choir Board parce qu’ils refusaient de participer aux célébrations du tricentenaire de l’arrivée de Jan van Riebeeck au Cap, marquant les débuts de la colonisation de l’Afrique du Sud. Toujours en existence en 2016, il semble toutefois très peu actif. 03. Conseils aux organisateurs du carnaval émanant des juges des compétitions du carnaval du Coon Carnival Development Board, 1996. Brochure The Cape Of Great Events publiée en 2002 par la mairie du Cap ; après s’être longtemps efforcée de marginaliser le carnaval ou de compliquer son organisation, la mairie du Cap le promeut pour en faire une attraction touristique. Collecté à l’Office du tourisme du Cap. 08. Sous l’égide de l’ANC, les deux principaux boards organisateurs de carnaval signent en 2007 un accord aux termes duquel ils co-organiseront la road march des klopse dans le centre du Cap. Il est possible d’interpréter ce tract de l’ANC, revendiquant un rôle déterminant dans cet accord, comme une tentative pour toucher une partie de l’électorat coloured à la suite de la perte de la mairie du Cap après l’élection de mars 2006 et en prévision des élections générales de 2009. Fascicule décrivant les activités musicales du domaine viticole Solms-Delta (Franschoek) : musée, centre de documentation, chœur, fanfare, etc. Ce domaine se distingue, non seulement par l’originalité de ses vins, mais surtout par sa politique de promotion des employés et de mise en valeur du patrimoine local (vestiges archéologiques, culture orale dont musique). Constitution of the Peninsula & District Xmas Bands Union, the main Christmas Choir organisation (these Christian brass bands are the third element of the New Year festivities, and their competitions are held after those of the klopse carnival and Malay Choirs), 1992. Given by M.R.C. Van Zitter, captain of The Royal Stars Christmas Band, January 26th, 1994, at his home, Paarl. 02. Suid-Afrikaanse Koorraad (South African Choir Council, SAKR) competition program, 1994, collected locally. The SAKR was founded in 1952 by choirs that had left the Cape Malay Choir Board because they refused to participate in the tercentenary celebrations of Jan van Riebeeck’s arrival in Cape Town, event which started the colonisation of South Africa. It was still alive in 2019, though it seemed barely active. 03. Advice to the carnival organizers from the judges of the Coon Carnival Development Board carnival competitions, 1996. The Cape of Great Events brochure published in 2002 by Cape Town city council; after working hard to marginalise the carnival or to complicate its organisation, Cape Town city council is promoting it to turn it into a tourist attraction. Collected at Cape Town tourism office. 08. Under the auspices of ANC, the two main carnival organising boards signed an agreement in 2007 whereby they would co-organise the klopse road march in Cape Town city centre. This ANC leaflet, which claims a decisive role in this agreement, might be interpreted as an attempt to reach part of the coloured voters after the loss of Cape Town city council in the March 2006 election, and as a preparation for the 2009 general election. Booklet describing the musical activities of the Solms-Delta wine estate (Franschoek): museum, documentation center, choir, brass band, etc. This estate stands out not only for the originality of its wines, but mostly for its policy of promoting employees and enhancing the local heritage (archaeological remains, oral culture, including music).
